A Case of Agranulocytic Angina

Abstract
The clinical progress of a case of agranulocytic angina, possiblly due to use of chloramphenicol, is reported.
The diagnosis of the condition is based on clinical symptoms and laboratory data. There were symptoms of high fever, persistent sorethroat, dirty yellowish-gray membrane and specific ulceration on the tonsil etc. The blood picture showed that decreased number of white blood cell count especially granulocytes.
In treatment of this case, special attentions were paid to removal of the cause, restitution of the blood count stimulation of bone marrow activity and prevention of reinfection. The patient was cured.
